Theme: Enhancing Teaching–Learning Process

(December 26, 2025 to January 01, 2026)

Al-Barkaat Institute of Education (ABIE) organized a One-Week Community Service Programme from December 26, 2025 to January 01, 2026 on the theme “Enhancing Teaching–Learning Process”.The primary objective of this programme was to bridge the pedagogical gap among school teachers who do not possess formal professional training such as a B.Ed. degree. The initiative aimed to equip participating teachers with scientific teaching methods, psychological understanding, and essential management skills to enhance classroom effectiveness and overall teaching quality.

 Objectives of the Programme

☆To familiarize teachers with modern teaching–learning strategies

☆To enhance understanding of child psychology and classroom behavior

☆To strengthen skills related to school administration and management

☆To promote reflective teaching and professional growth

Topics Covered

During the week-long programme, the following topics were comprehensively addressed:

  1. School Administration and Management
  2. Problems of the Indian Education System
  3. Teaching and Research Methodology in the Modern Education System
  4. Child Psychology and its Classroom Implications
  5. Teaching Skills and Pedagogical Techniques
  6. Behaviour Modification Techniques

☆ A special guest lecture was delivered on December 29, 2025, by Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh.

On December 26, 2025,

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Afshan Anees, followed by an introduction to the institute and the resource persons. The inaugural session witnessed enthusiastic participation, with nearly 35 school teachers from nearby areas attending on the first day.

The inaugural lecture was delivered by Dr. Rubina Shahnaz, Principal, ABIE, on the topic “School Administration and Management.” She clearly explained the distinction between administration and management and provided practical training on maintaining essential school records such as attendance registers and stock registers. She also shared valuable insights on resource management and scientific timetable construction. The participants actively engaged in discussions and expressed appreciation for the practical orientation of the session.

On December 27, 2025,

Dr. Afshan Anees (Resource person) She delivered an enlightening lecture on “Problems of the Indian Education System.” The session highlighted the importance of education and traced the evolution of the Indian education system through the Ancient, Medieval, and Modern periods. She discussed the major challenges faced by the present education system and emphasized the crucial role of teachers in addressing these issues at the grassroots level.

On December 29, 2025,

A special lecture was delivered by Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui on “Teaching and Research Methodology in the Modern Education System.” He emphasized the qualities of an effective teacher and highlighted the importance and necessity of research in education. By citing examples from day-to-day life, he successfully connected theory with practice, making the session highly interactive and engaging.

On December 30, 2025,

The session was conducted by Dr. Tabassum Qamar, who spoke on “Child Psychology and its Classroom Implications.” She discussed various stages of child development and aspects of personality such as cognitive, moral, physical, social, and emotional development. She further explained how an understanding of child psychology helps teachers effectively handle classroom challenges and individual differences among learners.

On 31, December 25, The session conducted by Ms. Shagufta, (Resource person)who delivered a session on “Teaching Skills and Pedagogical Techniques.” She discussed essential teaching skills such as lesson introduction, blackboard work, questioning, explanation, communication, classroom management, problem-solving, and time management. She highlighted the importance of these skills in a teacher’s professional career and demonstrated effective classroom techniques, including proper blackboard usage. A short activity-based session was also conducted to provide hands-on experience to the participants.

The session began Dr. Shazia Amani, who covered the topic “Behaviour Modification Techniques.” She explained different aspects of behavior and introduced techniques for modifying the behavior of both teachers and students. Special emphasis was laid on the concept of reinforcement, and teachers were encouraged to use positive reinforcement to promote desirable behavior among students.

 Valedictory Session

The valedictory session was held after the session during which Dr. Rubina Shahnaz, Principal, ABIE, along with faculty members, distributed certificates to the participants. The programme concluded with a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the community service initiative.

 Conclusion

The One-Week Community Service Programme was successfully conducted and received an overwhelmingly positive response from the participants. The programme significantly contributed to enhancing the professional competence, pedagogical understanding, and classroom effectiveness of the participating teachers, thereby fulfilling its intended objectives.
